博碩士論文: 以劇場理論研究地方文化館:以苗栗臉譜文化生活館為例=Research of local cultural museum based on Goffman’s performance theory : a case study of Miaoli face painting culture museum

    摘要:

    本文以苗栗縣三義鄉山板樵臉譜文化生活館作為研究範圍與對象,從2010年10月至2011年4月間透過參與觀察法,進入地方文化館做更深入的觀察與探討。與臉譜生活文化館經營相關人士進行訪談,更利用參與觀察機會,跟遊客與雙潭社區的居民進行訪談,查蒐集資料並分析;本研究以Goffman劇場理論當中的劇班情境定義與角色經營,分析地方文化館的發展歷程與特色定位;並以區域的概念,分析地方文化館的臺前區域、臺後區域與局外區域關係;並利用不協調角色,來分析公私部門與地方文化館角色關係;除了運用劇場理論在營運經驗的分析詮釋之外,也嘗試在地方文化館的實務經營方面,提出後續定位發展的參考。
    本研究的結果如下:
    臉譜文化生活館經歷多次的外在環境的影響,從木雕工作室到有機農場再到自己熟悉的木雕教學,並利用SARS期間繪製的國劇臉譜成立以國劇臉譜為主題的地方文化館。因臉譜文化生活館人力與資金不足,館主常有一人身兼多角的狀況出現。在表演內容方面,適時將客家藍衫與桐花等客家元素融入表演,讓遊客除了彩繪臉譜以外,還可以體驗在地的客家文化。
    臉譜文化生活館對於工作的前台與休息的後台沒有明顯的區分。員工對於休息的後台,需依當時情境來自我認定,後台的管理也成了地方文化館管理極為重要的課題。館主將表演舞臺延伸到局外區域,舉辦社區活動,發揮社區博物館的功能。
    本研究發現在地方文化館出現的不協調角色中的專家學者與公部門希望能將原本表演內容,融入客家與在地文化,以符合地方文化館的形象。為了使地方文化館的表演更為流暢,配合廠商提供專業的資源以增加地方文化館表演豐富性,導遊適時洩漏表演內容讓表演更為流暢,曾經來過地方文化館的遊客也將表演內容發表於自己的經營的BLOG,受訪的社區居民認為地方文化館太過熟悉;而同為地方文化館的木雕博物館,利用合作關係提升地方文化館遊客人數,因此互動情境與角色關係的掌握也成為地方文化館經營極重要的課題。
    This study regarded Shanbanciao Face Painting Culture Museum that located in Sanyi Village of Miaoli County as the study scope and study subject, the researcher observed and discussed this culture Museum thoroughly using the method of participant observation from October 2010 to April 2011. Interviews were carried out with relevant personnel of Face Painting Culture Museum, and the tourists and residents of Shuangtan Village were interviewed during participant observation so as to collect data for analysis. This study made use of theatrical situation definition and role management of Goffman’s Performance Theory to analyze the development progress and characteristics of Local Cultural Museum. The relationships of on-stage, backstage, and the outside of the Local Cultural Museum were analyzed and the role relationships of public departments, private departments, and Local Cultural Museum were analyzed through the discussion of communication out of character. Besides the use of Performance Theory to analyze and interpret operation experience, reference for future development was also proposed according to the practical management of Local Cultural Museum.
    The study results are as follows:
    Face Painting Culture Museum has gone through influence of external environment for many times, from woodcarving workroom to organic farm to woodcarving teaching, and then the Chinese-opera masks drawn during SARS period were used to establish a Local Cultural Museum that regarded Chinese-opera mask as the main theme. Since Face Painting Culture Museum has insufficient manpower and capital, the owner always has to multitask. For the contents of performance, Hakka characteristics such as Hakka Blue Blouse and Tung Blossom were added to the performance timely, allowing the tourists to experience not only the colored masks but also local Hakka culture.
    There was no significant differentiation between front-stage and backstage in Face Painting Culture Museum. The employees needed to identify the backstage that they could take a rest according to the situation by themselves, so backstage management was a very important issue for Local Cultural Museum. The owner extended the performance stage to external area to hold community activities so as to develop the function of community museum.
    For the communication out of characters that existed in Local Cultural Museum, this study found that the experts, scholars, and public departments would like to add Hakka and local culture to the contents of performance so as to fit in with the image of Local Cultural Museum. To make the performance of Local Cultural Museum become smoother, the Museum cooperates with suppliers to provide services that the Museum does not have and the tour guides would disclose the contents of performance timely to make the performance smoother. The tourists who had visited Local Cultural Museum would post the content of performance on their blogs as well. The residents that live in the same community claimed that they are too familiar with the Local Cultural Museum so they seldom visit the Museum. The Woodcarving Museum, another Local Cultural Museum, made use of cooperation relationship to increase the number of tourists visiting Local Cultural Museum. Thus, being able to master the situation is very important for the management of Local Cultural Museum.
