      摘要:

      傳統上客家人沒有用客家文字書寫的習慣,除了少許無名氏的口傳文學形式的客家山歌歌詞以外,少有專用客家文字的文學作品傳世。傑出的花蓮詩人葉日松是「客家人」,在勤耕文壇四十多年之後,於現代文學主流之外另闢蹊徑,嘗試客家文學中的童謠、歌詞和一般現代詩的創作。他用客家詞彙寫作,用客家母語思考,已經出版的客語詩作有(八本)二、三百篇之多。
        本文第一章「緒論」,就研究動機與目的、研究概況與範圍、研究方法作一說明。第二章探討葉日松的文學人生,分別敘述其人生歷程、文學情緣、美學信念和創作之路。第三章談葉日松和客語現代詩,因為他在儉樸無華的農村裡,度過了最窮苦貧困卻最奮發向上的童年時光,那段生活,可以說就是浸潤在「客家風俗習慣」裡,他的詩作中所呈現的「客家人的生活樣貌與內心感受」,以及「發揚客家文化的精神與內涵」的用心是深刻的,是懷抱著「使命感」的。他從生活中尋找詩的靈感,寫土地與鄉情、寫感懷與感恩等,在詩作中隨處書寫客家印象。
      第四章討論葉日松客語現代詩的內容,包括親情的浸潤與歌詠、生活的記實與記趣、自然的歌頌與抒懷、鄉土的頌讚與傳播、傳統節慶與民俗信仰等方面。近年來還致力於詩作與產業結合,用文化行銷花蓮特產和各地的風景名勝名產,以及描寫客家義民精神,以敘事詩作的形式,以文學為基礎,結合民間信仰。
        第五章探討葉日松客語現代詩的形式結構,有單純採用三言、或三言與五言、或三言五言與七言,錯落雜用的特色;而其篇幅大多短小,有的詩篇一段四行或五行,有的兩三段八九行,超過三十行以上的詩篇佔的比例很少。另外,葉日松的客語現代詩中也有承襲「客家山歌」的語言風格的詩作,讓讀者對於客家山歌的文藝風格多一番認識。
        第六章討論葉日松客語現代詩的聲情表現,其詩作中押韻者相當眾多,有「句句押韻」、「四句三韻」、「隔句押韻」的情形和主要元音和諧。至於第七章則探討意象呈現方面,從現代詩學理論可以架構出葉日松客語現代詩作中詠人感恩、詠物懷舊及敘事感懷的具體凝塑之呈現、活潑動感恬靜優雅皆俱的詩篇以及情感豐盈或是知性說理的詩篇,可以說是多元而豐富,也添增了客家文學的多面性。
      此外,本文於附錄將葉日松的客語現代詩作品(1998-2007),依筆畫順序、收錄詩集,以表格編列,以便查詢參考。其他關於葉日松之近照、書影、手稿、訪問記錄等亦一併收錄,以利完整呈現。
      Because Hakkanese didn’t usually use written words to express their thoughts, there are only few literary works passed down to the generations in written forms, although few Hakka folk songs lyrics were passed down by means of orals from some unknown writers.

      After his hardworking in Hakkanese literature for more than forty years, the outstanding Hualien poet – Yeh, Jih-Sung, who is Hakkanese, has attempted to write Hakka nursery rhymes, lyrics for songs and compose new modern poetry which were quite different from those “main stream” literary works. He writes in Hakkanese words and thinks in Hakkanese ways. The number of his published poetry was almost up to three hundred.

      There are three parts in the first chapter – study motives and objectives, study status and scale, and methods. In the second chapter, Yeh, Jih-Sung’s course of life was explored, the focal points in his life were stated, his literary connection and his personal belief in aesthetics was explored, his creativity of literature art was elucidated.

      The third chapter is to study the relationship between Yeh, Jih-Sung and the Hakka modern poetry. He grew up in a thrifty environment which exerted him to spear.His inspiration came from his life experiences and his appreciation of Hakkanese customs. He deeply described in his literary works the Hakkanese customs and emotions among Hakka families. Because of his sense of historical mission, Yeh, Jih-Sung tried to express his thanks to the land, the Hakkanese culture, and to present the spirit and content of Hakkanese culture by all possible means.

      In the fourth chapter, the content of Yeh, Jih-Sung’s Hakka modern poetry was analyzed. His modern poems were classified in five categories – praises for family love, memories of his daily life, his praises for the nature, his eager to promote the Hakkanese goods and scenic spots, and the traditional festivals and believes.

      In the fifth chapter, the forms of Yeh, Jih-Sung’s Hakka modern poetry were analyzed. They are purely three words, three-five words, and irregular three-five-seven words style. The lines of his poetry were always few. Some of the paragraphs were composed by four or five lines of words, others by eight or nine lines of words. Poems which are composed of more than 30 lines of words are rarely found in his literary works.

      In the sixth chapter, the sound affection in the Yeh, Jih-Sung’s Hakka modern poetry was analyzed. Lots of rhyming can be found in Yeh, Jih-Sungh’s poetry. They are rhyming in everyline, 1-2-4 line, and double lines. It builds harmony sounds, distinctive and soul-touching melody.

      In the seventh chapter, the image of Yeh, Jih-Sung’s Hakka modern poems was discussed. It’s innovative and ingenious. According to the theory of modern poetry, Yeh, Jih-Sung’s modern poetry showed the solid images of activeness, elegance, emotion and ration. Yeh, Jih-Sung’s Hakka modern poems has offered multiple types of Hakkaese literature.

      In the appendix, the photos, periodicals, original manuscript and interview records of Yeh, Jih-Sung are also included for further references.
