      摘要:

      在客家人對其傳統文化力求保存的同時,有一股新勢力正在萌芽,音樂風格隨著時代變遷而變化。1990年代興起的新客語歌謠運動,本著傳承的使命,創作者結合了傳統與創新,試圖在客家族群非多數人口的台灣社會,闖出一片天。
      族群認同與社會包容是多元文化下的主要課題,一群歌手意識到文化保存的重要性,將流行樂母語化並加入傳統的元素,藉由媒體傳達他們的信念,喚醒客家人對其音樂的探討和發想,也逐漸將這份情感拓展到非客語族群,本土化的發酵讓大家重視自己的文化,改變與創新似乎是讓傳統文化繼續延續下去的必然趨勢。
      本論文以幾個歷史事件貫穿,用歷史為概念來描述客家歌曲由傳統演變至今的過程。爾後因本土意識抬頭,原本屬於社會底層的聲音開始興起,進而有新一代客家歌手或樂團創作自己族群的歌曲,除了加入對社會現象的批判,也唱出心聲,筆者將分析其理念、背景與作品風格。再者,探討如何透過媒體的推廣,並與文化經濟產業結合運用,有助於客家歌曲深入人心,開闢新的市場。
      這一連串的復興運動激起的漣漪效應,是否能將客家精神的本質傳承下去,從社會面、文化面、經濟面探討多元發展之背後意涵,反思傳統文化生態的持續性與價值,及對客家本土意識的覺醒,是本論文企圖探究的重要議題。
      At a time when the Hakka ethnic group is looking for ways to preserve their traditional culture, a new influence in music emerged, which has continued to evolve through the change of time. The movement to rejuvenate the traditional Hakka music in 1990, with its mission to preserve and pass on the traditions, song writers combined the traditional Hakka music with their innovative ideas; they brought their music to the Taiwanese society where the Hakka ethnic group is still a minority, opening doors for new trends and opportunities.

      The acceptance of variant ethnical groups by a multicultural society is often a major issue. Realizing the significance of preserving their culture, a group of singers attempt to heighten the awareness of their cultural values by translating popular music into their mother language, and by adding traditional ideas from their culture; they imbued their belief into their music. Through broadcast via popular media, their creativity not only rekindled Hakka's interest in discovering their background, but most importantly expanded their reach in Hakka traditional values to non Hakka audiences. The virtue to protect local cultures had put more focuses on culture awareness, and the trend to change and innovate will be the key to the continuation of traditional culture.

      In this paper, various historical events will be discussed, which are used as basis for describing the evolution of Hakka music from past to present. With increased consciousness in retaining local culture and traditional belief, there is a sense of insurgence by the voice of minorities within the society. With new generations from the Hakka ethnic creating new style of music that not only are critical of various issues in the society, but also voiced their opinions. The idea, background, and style of their music will be discussed extensively in this paper. In addition, studies will be conducted on the effects of the media broadcast, and how it influenced the merge between culture and commercialization, which in turn helped boost the development of new markets.

      The ripple effect created by the insurgence of the rejuvenation movement, and the effectiveness on the passing on of the Hakka traditional belief from the society, culture and economic point of view will be analyzed to reveal its true meaning of multicultural development. The main topic in this paper aims to investigate the value and preservation of the traditional culture ecosystem, and the effects on the rejuvenation of Hakka traditional beliefs
